The Pilgrims lost a close match 4-1. The highlight of the night for the Pilgrims was the 2 Doubles team of Senior Ryan Gadziola and Junior Trenton Van Duyne battling back from a first set loss to take their match in a third set tiebreaker. In his first match at the 1 Singles position, Senior Martin Baca played a solid match, winning his first set before falling in three sets. 2S Senior James Kruyer, 3S Junior Maclean Miller, and the 1 Doubles Team of Senior Caleb Bowling and Junior Trey Delp all lost their matches in straight sets. "It was nice to see our 2D team step up after losing the first set to get that three set win. Ryan and Trenton played some really good tennis to force the tiebreaker (down 4-2, 5-4, and 6-5 in the third set) and played an excellent tiebreaker to seal their win. Everyone has things to work on moving forward, but we saw positive things from every court that we can build on moving forward." -Coach Haeck Plymouth's JV team beat Elkhart 6-1. Singles winners for the Pilgrims were 1S Zak Kresser, 3S Brice Hoover, 4S Landon Tyler, 1D Aiden Landis-Owen Walleske, 2D Hayden Feldman-Nick Manzuk, and 3D Landon Tyler-Peyton Hamood. Collectively, the JV Pilgrims pulled out 3 of the 4 tiebreakers they played en route to the victory. Plymouth will begin NLC play on the road at Wawasee on Thursday August 17, starting at 5:30PM. Go Big Red!
