The Lady Pilgrim Volleyball team opened up their season traveling to Rochester to open up Coach Fagan's coaching career. The Lady Pilgrims didn't disappoint with getting both JV and Varsity wins. The JV opened up the day winning in 2 sets 25-15 and 25-10. Leading the Jv team were Lexie Myers going 22/22 setting, 6 assists, and was 5/7 serving and Mia Hartley going 5/7 serving and going 23/24 setting and 8 assists. The Varsity Lady Pilgrims followed the Jv lead with winning in 3 straight sets 25-20, 27-25, and 25-8. Coach Fagan was very excited to see the team rally and string some long scoring runs together after getting behind in the 1st and 2nd sets. Rochester is always a scrappy team and will consistently keep points alive and extend rallies that should otherwise end. It was good for our team to compete against that type of team early. Coach Fagan said that the team did a great job of remaining patient, calm, and working together during those long rallies. The Lady Pilgrims serving game was strong and allowed the Pilgrims to put the Zebras out of their system frequently. The Lady Pilgrims host the LaPorte Lady Slicers Tuesday, August 15th with the Freshman playing in the Aux gym starting at 6 pm and the JV starting at 6 pm in the Rock.
